Comprehensive Assessment

Using advanced cognitive assessment tools, we build a comprehensive understanding of your child’s abilities. Our comprehensive assessment combines several internationally recognized Hungarian and international diagnostic methods. Drawing on leading scientific and clinical approaches, we primarily apply Dynamic Assessment and Needs-Based Assessment methodologies.

Beyond traditional intelligence testing, we place great emphasis on understanding your child’s learning potential, emotional functioning, and any factors that may influence their performance, including resistance to learning.

Cognitive assessment

Research consistently demonstrates that during the first five years of life, cognitive and emotional development are closely interconnected. This means that factors such as how well a child has slept, how comfortable they feel with the clinician, or whether the environment feels familiar and welcoming can significantly influence assessment outcomes.

For this reason, every assessment takes place in a supportive, structured, and child-friendly environment built on trust, empathy, and positive interaction. Under these conditions, we are able to gain the clearest possible picture of a child’s true cognitive abilities.

It is equally important to recognize that intelligence is not fixed—it is dynamic and can be developed over time.

What does our comprehensive assessment include?

  • Cognitive abilities
  • Emotional regulation
  • Social skills
  • Gross and fine motor development
  • Sensory integration
  • Speech and language development

Our primary goal is to identify each child’s learning potential—not simply to determine what they cannot do. Through dynamic assessment, we gain an accurate understanding of each child’s genuine cognitive profile and identify the underlying causes of learning difficulties. This approach enables us to distinguish between developmental challenges that may mask existing abilities. For example, we ensure that an incorrect response caused by attention difficulties is never mistaken for an intellectual impairment—or vice versa.

What areas do we assess?

  • Cognitive abilities
  • Emotional and behavioral functioning
  • Social skills
  • Motor development
  • Speech and language skills
  • Mathematical abilities

Who do we recommend it for?

  • Above 3 years old
  • In case of difficulties at school or home
  • For ADHD or autism spectrum disorder
  • For those struggling with language disorders
  • In case of intellectual disability
  • In case of genetic syndromes

Why do we recommend it?

  • To uncover the true cause of the difficulties
  • Accurate, dynamic assessment of abilities
  • Detailed expert report and therapy recommendations

How does the assessment work?

Our assessment incorporates elements of the internationally renowned LPAD (Learning Propensity Assessment Device) methodology, developed by the distinguished Israeli psychologist Professor Reuven Feuerstein. This evidence-based approach allows us to obtain the most accurate understanding of each child’s learning abilities. The LPAD is specifically designed to uncover a child’s learning potential and identify abilities that may not be apparent through traditional testing.

During the dynamic cognitive assessment, we evaluate how a child thinks, learns, and responds to guided instruction. Rather than focusing solely on the final result, we carefully observe the learning process itself.

The assessment consists of three stages:

  • The child first completes tasks independently.
  • A trained specialist then provides guided instruction and works collaboratively with the child.
  • Finally, the child is given another opportunity to solve similar tasks independently, now applying the strategies and knowledge acquired during the guided learning phase.

This process allows us to identify:

  • A comprehensive cognitive profile
  • The quality of the child’s learning potential
  • The most effective therapeutic and developmental recommendations for the child

Throughout the assessment, we place great emphasis on creating a calm, supportive, and positive atmosphere.

Every child is unique, and we carefully adapt the assessment to each child’s individual needs. This helps minimize anxiety and frustration, allowing us to obtain the most accurate picture of their true abilities.

As a result, children typically remember the assessment as an enjoyable and engaging experience rather than as a stressful examination.

Following the assessment, parents receive a detailed written professional report outlining the findings and our recommendations.
